Meghan began teaching yoga in 2000. She received both her teacher training (2000) and advanced teacher training (2001) through the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram located on Paradise Island, Bahamas. Several months after completing her advanced training, she moved to London, England to live, study and teach with her teachers in the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center.
In her years living in London, Meghan immersed herself into yogic lifestyle. She practiced the 4 paths of yoga as taught by H. H. Sri Swami Sivananda. Each day consisted of daily meditation, chanting, selfless service, devotion, contemplation and the study of classical yogic scriptures. She received direct training from senior swamis (yogic monk or nun) and was given the opportunity to assist Vedic priests in various ceremonies and rituals. During her time in the ashram, Meghan taught Hatha yoga to beginner, intermediate and advanced students as well as teaching children’s, senior and pre-natal classes. She led courses on mediation, raja yoga, bhakti yoga, pranayama and various yogic and ayurvedic cooking and philosophy courses.
Since returning to Portland, OR. In 2004, Meghan has continued to teach yoga drawing upon the teachings of Swami Sivananda. She is dedicated to spreading the message of peace and unity taught by Swami Sivananda and his disciples through these basic principles that he taught: Serve, Love, Give, Purify, Meditate, Realize.
