The Four Locks and Keys - Cultivating Equanimity

The Four Locks and Keys - Cultivating Equanimity

Thursday, March 10, 2022
7:15 – 8:15 PM PST

Yoga Bhoga Virtual Workshop

“By cultivating attitudes of friendliness toward the happy, compassion for the unhappy, delight in the virtuous, and equanimity toward the non-virtuous, the mind-stuff retains its undisturbed calmness.”

— Yoga Sutra 1.33

Verse 1.33 of the Yoga Sutra echoes the Buddhist teachings known as the Brahmaviharas or the teachings of love, compassion, sympathetic joy and equanimity. These four sublime states are meant to be all in-clusive and applied to all of existence. During this workshop, we will discuss these four sublime states as well as practice a meditation that the practitioner can take with them and integrate into their daily lives.
